Pinnacle Intermediate Counseling Center

The school counseling program at Pinnacle Intermediate is a proactive plan that covers various levels of student needs. Prevention is a priority, and this consists of classroom guidance, small group activities, and individual counseling. The counselor at Pinnacle works hand in hand with staff, parents and the community to assist with student academic, emotional, and social support. Pinnacle has a full-time school counselor.

Morning Meetings

Morning meetings use a curriculum developed off of the CASEL framework for social/emotional literacy called Seven Mindsets. Morning meetings are designed to provide relationships and connections within the classroom. The Seven Mindsets we are cover are Everything is Possible, Passion First, We are Connected, 100% Accountable, Attitude of Gratitude, Live to Give, and The Time is Now.

Target lessons applicable to the needs of students are provided as needed. Bullying,  Anxiety, Anger, Substance Abuse, Self-Esteem, Safety, Conflict Resolution, etc. can present concerns with the difficulty of the pre-adolescent stage.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is available as needed for students who are having difficulty. Parents, teachers, administrators, or students themselves may request time with the counselor. The counselor may consult with the parents and teachers in area of growth, development, and learning. Resources and information can be provided to help with specific concerns. The goal of the counseling center is to provide a safe place for students to come when they are in need to talk about concerns or problems.
